Welcome and what is Jet52?
This is a companion website to my new YouTube channel Jet52 with Tim. Just a little more info here beyond my forthcoming videos over there. On this site I’ll try to pull the curtain back on producing each video. It will be a journal of the experience of creating the individual videos. It will include what I struggled with, what went well and a ride along as I try to get much better at what I’m doing.
What about the name Jet52? Not anything to do with aviation really – I always liked the sound of Jet52 for an on-line presence. So it doesn’t represent anything relevant. Just something easy to remember. That and it gives me a groovy domain name for email addresses. It is short and sweet.
Curiously there are some Jet52 channels on YouTube now, but I owned this website so I thought it was safe. It also allows me to link directly from YouTube to this site.. Meaning I”ll try to share some info across the two platforms. But there will also be unique content on each that isn’t on the other.
As for me . . . I’m just about 58 years old and live in Kansas City. First jumped onto YouTube in January 2020 after months of thinking about starting a channel for the heck of it. In fact as I write this I’m about two days away from registering the channel. If it is past January 3, 2020 and its not registered . . . I’m in avoidance mode. Follow up – it is registered now as a brand related to my main google account. Jan 5th. It just took me 11 months to do something and post the first video. Think of the level I could be at if the last 11 months I had been producing content instead of just thinking about it.
I have no aspiration to chase money on YT – it would be a mega long shot anyway. Just doing this for fun and will pursue a whopping 20 subscribers before April 1, 2021. (Dec 2020 – I currently have 19 subscribers) If I could get 100 views that would be quite a kick as well (Dec 15th 2020 I have 304). My expectations are pretty tame. though.
However . . .
There are some obstacles in front of me. I’m lacking baseball hats, sunglasses, powered skateboards, video talent, a 30 year old body or a million dollar smile so there are some challenges here. In spite of that I’ll try to see if I can do it and learn a few new skills along the way. If a few people see it I’m appreciative of your time – Welcome to Jet52. Tim
